Best pizza I've ever had. You can tell how good the pizza is just by the quality of the dough!
MoreFennel Sausage and Onion Pizza is amazing! Protein options are limited so we add extra sausage and enjoy the meatball appetizer.
MoreSome truly great pizza. And really everything else too. Eat here, be happy.
I love the fire with grilled pizza. It was very fun of night.by the way, I love the drink so much its named old fashion. 😋 It’s best one i have ever tried.
MoreSmall but cute pizza place. Perfect portion size for two people to have zero leftovers. The crust was nice and crispy. Street parking. We got there at 5 and had no wait but when we were leaving there was a line of people waiting. They also have outside seating.
MoreAwesome place. Came Sunday night and it was still packed. You can add any of the toppings to other pizzas but they don't do half and halfs. Got the handmade and added chilies. Didnt disappoint.
MoreWe heard of Ken's from a friend in Houston who had purchased one of Ken's cook books. We got there right at 4 when restaurant opens a d there was a small line already, but not wait time. Pies are made in traditional pizza oven (wood fired) servers were amazing, presentation was a feast for the eyes. Pizzas are individual size, but with appetizer we still each brought 1/2 home with us. Cocktail menu was light, however, my old fashioned was very very good (recommend). It seems place gets pretty busy later in the evening so would suggest - if you like to avoid crowds to go early, but definitely a place to try in Portland
MoreIt's my first time to eat on this place. I love pizza so I was interested in trying this place. The server was very friendly and accommodating; offered a superior superior service.- explained the menu with enthusiasm and suggested their specialty pizza. Their pizza was really good, thicker in crust, a little bit crisp and full of ingredients. delectable!
MoreVery good slices. Highly recommended
Good quality but lacking a little flavor.
For Portland pizza, this pizzeria is pretty good. As is typical for wood-fired pizza, the interior crust is delicious, but the exterior crust is deeply chewy. Dessert and wine list is really good; try the chocolate custard and the dry Lambrusco.
MoreThis is my favorite pizza place. Period. That may sound like I’m exaggerating how good it is, but I challenge anyone to eat here and tell me it’s anything short of stellar. Amazing food, good atmosphere, and a rotating tap of local beers. How could anyone hope to beat that?
MoreOn a Saturday I do recommend arriving before the place opens, there was a line around the corner and I was lucky to get in the first round. The vegetable appetizer is unbelievable delicious. I highly recommend it.Customer was very friendly. The pizza was the best I've had so far around Portland, but I wish the dough was a touch wetter (from what I'm used to from DC's 2Amys and Pupatella). The Mushrooms + Greens pizza was a bit on the dry side for me. J liked the flavor of his NY Pizza but he was hoping for more cheese and no oregano since it takes completely over the flavors of the pizza. The dessert was subtle but delicious, the cream, the lemon pie and the huckleberries, the pic doesn't show as if it was amazing, but indeed it was.Great options and fresh ingredients. I'd go again there for pizza in a whim!
MoreGreat pizza and wine. Make sure to put your name in early as they don’t take reservations. The mushroom pizza is one of the best.
MoreWe went back after a long time and enjoyed the food, ambience and service. Their open kitchen was quite interesting for the kids while we waiting. Wait times are higher in weekends but we will be back for more. We had their market salad and Arrabbiata and Handmade pizzas while kids had a kids cheese pizza which is not on the menu but you can check with the servers. Kids pizza had a mellowed version of their red sauce and mozzarella. We loved the Handmade which was made with a very flavorful garlic oil (garlic, chilli flakes and fennel seeds).
MoreAs a transplant from Italy to Portland, I have impossible high standards when it comes to food. Ken's Artisan pizza meets these standards. Great dough, great sauce, toppings and superb wood fired oven. The place is casual, yet very nice for a night out on a date (either romantic or with family and friends.) Service is also excellent. Good beer and wine selection. definitely worth the wait (they do not take reservations.)
MoreThis place has the best Neapolitan style pizza I’ve found in Portland so far.
Dough is bland, crunchy but too chewy. Either the crust is too thick or the oven was too hot could not taste the pineapple in the pizza. Have had better pizza by the slice.
MoreNothing less than 5 Stars! Absolutely phenomenal pizza and atmosphere. A great selection of wine and cocktails as well. The service is attentive and very friendly. My wife and I both rate this the best pizza in all of Portland, OR.
MoreI had a good experience at Ken's. Mostly due to service and food quality was good. However, it suffers from having everyone packed in tightly. Gotta squeeze in as many customers as possible right? I'm glad I tried it but in the future I won't be thinking of Ken's for a good sit-down dining experience.
MoreBest crust in town. We had the white sauce simple pizza. The herbs and cheese were fantastic. Can't bet Ken.
MoreCozy place for a nice family dinner. The pizzas are really good. The only problem is the long wait times. But we got seated faster than the said time.
MoreExcellent crust, tomato sauce has a very nice flavor, mushroom pizza is delicious even without me caring for mushrooms. Great pizza.
MoreOur favorite place for pizza! <3
Excellent pizza. Love the mushroom pizza. It is a busy place we arrived early to get a seat
MoreBest neighborhood pizza spot. Cozy interior and great staff. Good pizza, salads and veggie plates.
MoreKen's artisan pizza is one of my fav restaurants in Portland. Simple, perfect wood fire oven pizza, great salads, good wine and a cool friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!!
MoreTop notch pies! We go there often, even if it is slightly over priced.
This is one of my favorite pizza places in town! The pizzas are cooked in a nice specialized wood fired oven and comes out quickly. Must haves include the soppressata, mushroom, and fennel sausage pizzas.
MoreAmazing! REAL DEAL, wood fired oven pizza. Thin crust and fresh ingredients make this gourmet pizza one to cry tears of joy over. Hip enviroment, wine and beer offerings, plus beautiful salads and vegetable dishes make for a well rounded, high end dining experience. Well done!
MoreGreat food, great vibe, great staff, perfect place.
Pizza and dessert were very tasty. Price-wise it was about $17 for a pizza and $9 for the dessert. I split each with a date.
MoreStop #210 for @pizzas365: Ken's Artisan Pizza has a fantastic pizza. Everything is super fresh on their inventive upscale Italian slices, and the price is pretty great, too! The one negative aspect I'd point out is the large amount of (dry) crust on the slice - that makes for a dry finish to an otherwise great slice. Small issue, but an issue nonetheless - this place is good. 4.6 Stars.
MoreGot the Brooklyn and the Fennel Sausage. Amazing. Take-out, I really miss being able to eat there.
MoreLoves my night there with friends. Great food, good portions, and cool atmosphere. I had an excellent espresso treat at the end. They stayed open a little later for us and got our whole group in, in a reasonable amount of time. Handled our split checks well! Will go again for sure!
MoreOrdered the roasted vegetable appetizer and four pizzas (handmade, arrabiata, prosciutto and sopresata). Everything was delicious! The vegetable appetizer and the handmade pizza were particularly good... Just a truly exquisite flavor. Restaurant was very busy, but service was still good and resonably quick. Loved the open layout that allowed us to see the massive wood-burning stove in action.
MoreFavorite pizza in Portland!! The best crust and crisp level!!
This is great pizza. I don't like pizza and when I do, I like thick hand-tossed dough that's piled with cheese. This is a thin-crust pizza with a thinner layer of cheese than I like, but it's so well-made that none of that matters. The pies aren't greasy and, when they're fresh, there's a very satisfying crispness to the crust. We enjoyed that a carafe of water was left at the table and that there was a small dish with salt and red pepper flakes. The wine list was longer than I expected. The restaurant itself was pretty small and it was tight quarters inside, but the decor was pleasant and the staff very friendly. Besides the actual restaurant, be prepared to fight for parking on narrow residential streets if you arrive more than an hour or two after they open. There's also just two bathrooms to cover both this restaurant and the sushi place next door.
MoreBecause they are run a bakery, their pizza crust was just delicious. A little crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. And the overall restaurant atmosphere was friendly and chill. I will recommend this place to my friends.
MoreFantastic pizza, great service, and nice atmosphere. It's true that the crust is equally good as the toppings here - and the wood fired oven makes the pizzas taste amazing!
MoreThis place is more of a pizza fine dining experience. The wait to be seated on a Saturday night at 5:30 was one hour. We ordered some drinks while we stood and waited for a table, which made time pass a little faster. The apps are what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant, not a pizza place. They were good and the prices reflect that. The food comes fast. The pizza was good and definitely artisan style as the name insinuates. Non traditional meats and toppings compared to a regular pizza place but still very good. The wait staff was super friendly and the service was excellent.
MoreWas really disappointed with this pizza given the owner Ken Forkish has written a popular book and this place gets such high reviews. The crust was completely inedible, not burnt or charred but very tough and hard like they had sat way too long in too low a temperature. Toppings and choices were Ok, was a bit disappointed that they wouldn't cook the anchovies into the pizza and only served them on the side. Not the highest quality anchovies either..Service was ok, esp at first when greeted but that attitude changed later and they did rush us to get out to turn the table. Given all the great pizza in Portland, I'll stick this one in the checked off list, and move on. No compelling reason to come back.
MoreParking is wicked hard to find, but the caesar salad, margherita pizza, and desserts are all excellent. Bread with olive oil can be had for free, but you must ask for it.
MoreSimply scrumptious cherry bomb pizza and a pint..
Three adults had nice dinner at 8pm on Sunday in January. No wait to be seated. Nice ambiance and wood fires oven front and center. Excellent waitress let us sample 4 wines prior to choosing a bottle. Had the roasted vegetables, pesto pizza, and bacon pizza. Dinner was great, cooks explained details of oven to me. We were last people there but not rushed out at all. Would definitely return again.
MoreExcellent pizza and service. Best pies are the Mushroom and the Brooklyn.
Very nice place. Their pizzas are quite tasty. We had the Margherita and the Mushroom pizza, both of which were pretty good. The ceasar salad (large) was short in quantity and not reasonably priced. I would skip the salad and go here for the pizza any day.
MoreI got the Romodoro Royale and it was definitely Royale. My favorite kind of pizza is pomodoro/marinara pizza, I requested that they put the garlic fennel oil stuff that they put on the Handmade, it added this new depth that you will not find anywhere else. I highly recommend this to anyone, lover of the almost cheeseless pizza or not.
MoreIt was a good pizza, but it's pretty pricey. Had the margarita pizza. Oddly, pepperoni is not mentioned on the menu, which kinda seems like a staple for a pizza place.
MoreMirroring all the “best pizza” in Portland reviews. The reality is Portland has some really good pizza! If I’m wanting a delish salad and some not terrible for you pizza kens is the place. The staff are great, the inside spot is a squeeze but the outdoor space is lovely and pup friendly!
